The Social Entrepreneurship 8th Forum was held on November 21, International Day of Social Entrepreneurship.

The forum is an annual event and has been organized by the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia since 2012. Since this year, the forum will be organized by the Social Enterprise Alliance.

110 participants attended Forum this year, including representatives of 34 social enterprises, also from public, business and non-governmental sector. The speakers at the Forum were representatives of state institutions such as the newly established Youth Agency, Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency and Startup Georgia.

At the forum discussion topics were: the results, opportunities, development prospects and expectations so far of social entrepreneurship.

Also, in the thematic groups, representatives of 8 social enterprises and different sectors were given the opportunity to share and discuss their experiences in the field on:

  • Social entrepreneurship and innovation;
  • Social Entrepreneurship - as Successful Business Models;
  • Measuring and managing social impact.

The forum participants received information about the "Boost the Changes" campaign and talked about the importance of the legal framework of social entrepreneurship.

The final part of the event was dedicated to named the winner in the nomination of the “Social Enterprise of the Year”.

The forum participants listened to representatives of three nominated social enterprises: Dadari, Gumbati and Babale. The forum participants also had the opportunity to view the products / services of the nominated social enterprises through the exhibition.

The participants of the event, based on the principle of online polling, vote for their favorite social enterprise.

By the decision of the audience, the winner in the nomination “Social Enterprise of the Year” became the social enterprise Babale.

Babale received 4,000 GEL from the Bank of Georgia, the main partner of the event.

Also, the winner of the nomination “Kodala’s Rachuli” became the social enterprise Dadari who received 1,000 GEL.
